40 Ahadith Regarding the Month of Ramazan
IntroductionThe Holy Prophet (peace be upon him and his progeny) has said:
Those people from amongst my ummah, who memorise forty traditions pertaninig to those issues of religion, which they are in need of, Allah shall resurrect them on the Day of Judgment as jurisprudents and scholars. (Bihaar al-Anwaar, vol. 2, p. 156; Al-Ikhtasaas, p.2)
Hadith No. 1
Why the name 'Ramadhan'?
The Holy Prophet (S.A.W.) said:
Surely, the month of Ramadhan has been named so because it scorches away the sins.

Hadith No. 2
The Name of God
Imam Sadiq (A.S.) has said:
Say not, "This is Ramadhan" and "Ramadhan has departed" and "Ramadhan has arrived" for surely, Ramadhan is one of the names of Allah, The Mighty, the Glorious, who neither arrives nor departs. Surely, arrives and departs that, which is ephemeral, Instead say: "The month of Ramadhan".

Hadith No. 3
The Month of Revelation of the Qur'an
Imam Reza (A.S.) has said:
If one asks, "Why is it that the fasts were made obligatory exclusively in the month of Ramadhan and not in the other months?" it would be said, "(this is) because the month of Ramadhan is the month in which Allah, the Exalted, had revealed the Qur'an."

Hadith No. 4
Reward for Recitation of the Qur'an
Imam Reza (A.S.) has said:
Someone who recites one verse from the Book of Allah, The Mighty, The Glorious, in the month or Ramadhan, is like one who has recited the entire Qur'an in the other months.

Hadith No. 5
Reward of the Month of Ramadhan
The Holy Prophet (S.A.W.) was asked:
O' Prophet of Allah! Which of the two months possesses a greater reward, Rajab or the month of Ramadhan?
The Holy Prophet (S.A.W.) replied:
Nothing can be compared to the month of Ramadhan in terms of reward.

The Month of God
The Holy Prophet (S.A.W.) said:
Sha'ban is my month and the month of Ramadhan is the month of Allah, The Exalted, and it is the springtime for the poor.

Hadith No. 7
The Chosen Month
The Holy Prophet (S.A.W.) said:
Surely, Allah, The Mighty, The Glorious, has chosen from amongst the months (and granted preference to), the months of Rajab, Sha'ban and the month of Ramadhan.

The Great Month
The Holy Prophet (S.A.W.) said:
Surely, the month of Ramadhan is a great month. Allah multiplies in it the good deeds, erases in it the sins and elevates in it the ranks.

The Chief of the Months
Imam 'Ali (A.S.) said:
The month of Ramadhan has approached you. It is the chief of all months and the beginning of the year.

The Beginning of the Year
Imam Sadiq (A.S.) said:
if the month of Ramadhan remains safe and sound (with respect to sins), the (entire) year shall remain so (too);
the month of Ramadhan is the beginning of the year.

Hadith No. 11
The Month of Mercy
The Holy Prophet (S.A.W.) has said:
It (Ramadhan) is the month, whose beginning is mercy, its middle, forgivness and its end, emancipation from the fire (of hell).

Hadith No. 12
Excellence of the Month of Ramadhan
The Holy Prophet (S.A.W.) said:
O' People! Surely, the month of God has approached you. The month which, in the eyes of Allah, is the most virtuous of the months. Its days are the best of the days and its nights, the best of the nights and its moments, the best of the moments.

The Best of the Months
Imam Sadiq (A.S.) said:
The best of the months is the month of God - the month of Ramadhan - and the heart of the month of Ramadhan is the Night of Qadr (Lailatul Qadr).

Hadith No. 14
The Night of Qadr
The Holy Prophet (S.A.W.) said:
O' People! Surely, a great and blessed month has enveloped you. A month, in which there is a night, deeds in which are better than of a thousand months.

Hadith No. 15
Gift of Allah's Month
The Holy Prophet (S.A.W.) said:
Your breath in it glorification (of Allah) and your sleep in it worship (of Allah).

Hadith No. 16
Fasts of the Month of Ramadan
The Holy Prophet (S.A.W.) said:
The month of Ramadhan is the month in which Allah, The Mighty, The Glorious, has made fasting obligatory upon you. So one, who fasts in this month in a state of belief and with the intention of recompense, shall become free of his sins just as he was on the day when his mother gave him birth.

Hadith No. 17
The Month of Spiritual Striving
In his testament to his sons, Imam Sadiq (A.S.) said:
When the month of Ramadhan arrives, exert yourselves, for surely it is in this month that livelihood is distributed, the hour of death is ordained and the arriving for Hajj is decreed. In it is a night, deeds in which are better than deeds in a thousand months.

Hadith No. 18
The Month of Good Deeds
The Holy Prophet (S.A.W.) said:
This month of yours (Ramadhan) is unlike the other months. Surely, when it approaches you, it does so with blessings and mercy and when it turns away from you, it does so with forgiveness of sins. This is a month in which good deeds are multiplied and of goodness accepted.

Hadith No. 19
The Blessed Month
The Holy Prophet (S.A.W.) has said:
Surely, the month of Ramadan, the blessed month, has come to you. The month, whose fasts Allah has made obligatory upon you. In it, the doors of Paradise are opened up and the Satans fettered, and in it is the Night of Qadr, which is more virtuous than a thousand months.

Hadith No. 20
The Month of Ramadhan and Seeking Forgiveness
Imam 'Ali (A.S.) said:
It is incumbent upon you to seek forgiveness and supplicate excessively in the month of Ramadhan. As for the supplication, by means of it the calamities are warded off from you, and as for the seeking of forgiveness, it erases away your sins.

Duaa-e-Ahad is to be recited every morning after Namaz-e-Sub'h, or at least on Fridays after Sub'h. It is narrated that if anyone recites this for forty consecutive days after Sub'h, he shall be fortunate enough to join the righteous group of Imam Mahdi(a.s).

In The Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful,
اللهم صل علی محمد وآل محمد
Oh Allah, Send your blessings upon Muhammad(S) and the Family of Muhammad(A)
اَللّـهُمَّ رَبَّ النُّورِ الْعَظیمِ، وَرَبَّ الْکُرْسِیِّ الرَّفیعِ، وَرَبَّ الْبَحْرِ الْمَسْجُورِ،
O Allah! Lord of the Great Light, Lord of the Elevated Throne, Lord of the tumultuous seas,
«اَللّهُمَ عَرِّفْنی نَفْسَکَ فَإِنَّکَ إِنْ لَمْ تُعَرِّفْنِی نَفْسَکَ
لَمْ أَعْرِفْ نَبیَّکَ (لَم ْأََعْرِفْکَ وَ لَمْ أَعْرِفْ رَسُولَکَ.
اَللّهُمَّ عَرِّفْنِی رَسُولَکَ فَإِنَّکَ إنَّ لَمْ تُعَرِّفْنِی رَسُولَکَ
لَمْ أَعْرِفْ حُجَّتَکَ).
آَللّهُمَّ عَرِّفْنِی نَبِیَّکَ فَإِنَّکَ إِنْ لَمْ أَعْرِفْ حُجَّتَکَ
فَإِنَّکَ إِنْ لَمْ تُعَرِّفْنِی حُجَّتَکَ
ضَلَلْتُ عَنْ دِینِی.
بار الها!خودت را به من بشناسان که البته اگر خود را به من
نشناسانی پیغمبرت را نخواهم شناخت. بارالها!پیغمبرت را به
من بشناسان که اگر پیغمبرت را به من بشناسانی حجّت تو را
نخواهم شناخت. بار الها!حجّت خود را به من بشناسان که اگر
حجّتت را به من بشناسانی از دینم گمراه می گردم.
Oh Allah make known yourself to me
because if you don’t
make known yourself to me,
I won`t recognize your prophet.
Oh Allah make known your prophet to me because if you don’t
make known your prophet to me,I won`t recognize your
Hojat (Allah`s authority).
Oh Allah make known your Hojat to me because
if you don’t make known your Hojat to me,
I will go astray from my religon.
اللهم إنی أصبحت أستغفرک فی هذا الصباح و فی هذا الیوم الاهل
رحمتک و أبرء إلیک من أهل لعنتک. أللهم إنی أصبحت أبرء
إلیک فی هذا الیوم و فی هذا الصباح ممن نحن بین ظهرانیهم من
المشرکین و مما کانوا یعبدون إنهم کانوا قوم سو ء فاسقین.
اللهم اجعل ما انزلت من السماء إلی الأرض فی هذا الصباح و فی
هذا الیوم برکه علی أولیائک و عقابا علی أعداٍئک.
اَللّهُمُّ والِ مَنْ والاکَ وَ عادِ مَنْ عاداکَ . اَللّهُمُّ اخْتَمْ لِی بِالأَمْنِ
وَالإِیمانِ کُلَّما طَلَعَتْ شَمْسٌ أَوْ غَرُ بَتُ. اَللّهُمُّ اغْفِرْ لِی وَلِوالِدَیَّ وَ
ارْحَمْهُما کَما رَبَّیانِی صَغِیراً. اَللّهُمُّ اغْفِرْ لِلْمُومِناتِ وَالْمُسْلِمِینَ وَ
المُسْلِماتِ اَلأَحْیآءِ مِنْهُمْ وَالَأمْواتِ . اَللّهُمُّ إِنَّکَ تَعْلَمُ مُنْقَلّبَهُمْ وَمَثْواهُمْ .
اَللّهُمُّ احْفَظْ إِمامَ الْمُسلِمِیَن بِحِفْظِ الِإیمانِ وَانْصُرهُ نَصراً عَزِیزاً وَ
افْتَحْ لَهُ فَتْحاً یَسِیراً وَ اجْعَلْ لَهُ وَ لَنا مِنْ لَدُنْکَ سُلْطاناً نَصِیراً . اَللّهُمُّ
الْعَنْ فُلاناً وَفُلاناً و الفِرَقَ المُخْتَلِفَةَ علی رَسُولِکَ وَ وُلاةِ الأمْرِ بَعْدَ
رَسُولِکَ وَ الأَئِمَّةِ مِنْ بَعْدِهِ وَ شِیعَتِهِم, وَ أَْسْأَلُکَ الزَّیادَةَ مِن فَضلِکَ
وَالإِقرارَ بمِا جآءَ بِهِ مِن عِنْدِکَ وَاتَّسلیِمَ ِلأَمرِکَ و الُمحافَظَةَ عَلی
ماأَمَرْتَ بِهِ لا أَبتَغِی بِهِ بَدَلاًوَلا أَشْترِی بِهِ ثَمَناً قَلِیلاً. اَللّهُمُّ اهْدِنِی
فِیمَنْ هَدَیْتَ وَقِنِی شَرَّ ما قَضَیْتَ ,إِنَّکَ تَقْضِی وَلا یُقْضِی عَلَیکَ
وَلایَذِلُّ مَن و الَیْتَ تَبارَکتَ وَ تَعالَیْتَ ,سُبْحانَکَ رَبِّ البَیتِ تَقَیَّل منیِّ
دُعائی,وما تَقَّربتُ به الَیکَ مَن خَیْر فَضاعِفْهُ لی أضْافاً کَثِیرةً و آتِنا
مِنْ نَدُنْکَ ( رَحْمَةً وَ)أجْراً عَظِیماً
خدوندا!هرآن که تورادوست می داردبااودوستی کن وباهرباتودشمنی می ورزددشمنی
کن.خداوندا!عاقبت کارمراهرکاه که آفتاب برآیدیاغروب کند,باامن وایمان به بایان رسان.خداوندا!
مراو والدینم رابیامرزوآن هارارحم کن همجنان که ازکودکی برورشم دادند.بارخدایا!توخودمی دانی
که جه دکرکونی ها یابندوعاقبت کارشان جه خواهدشد.خداوندا!امام مسلمان رابه حفظ ایمان نکاه
دارواورابه بیروزی شکست نابذیری برسان وبرای اوراه فتح وظفررابه آسانی بکشای وبرای
اووماازسوی خویش حکومت یاری شده ای قرارده.خداوندا!فلانی وفلانی وکروهای مخالف علیه
فرستاده ات وعلیه والیان امربعدازرسولت,وعلیه امامان بس ازاووشیعیانشان رالعنت
کن,وازتومی خواهم که ازفضل خود برمن بیفزای و(توفیق)اقراربه آنجه ازسوی توآمده
وتسلیم امرتوبودن ورعایت آنجه فرمان داده ای که جیزدیکری جای آن نبذیرم وآن رابه
قیمت اندک نکیرم به من عطاکنی.خداوندا!مرادرمیان آن کس که هدایت کرده ای هدایت
فرمای وازشرآنجه آفریده ای مصون بدار,به درستی که توحتم می کنی وبرتو حتم نمی شودوهرآنکه
راسربرستی کرده ای قرارنکردد.توبزرکوارووالا هستی,منزهی ای بروردکارخانه (کعبه)!دعایم
راازمن ببذیروبه هرخیری که به آن به سوی توتقرب جسته ام به جندین برابر بیفزای وازسوی
خویش به مارحمت واجرعظیم عنایت فرمای.
O’God!Iwake up while I request blessing for the people of your mercy in this Morning and
in this Day from you I become fed up and sick from in habitant of damning.
O’God !I wake up while I become fed up and sick in this damning toward you from
ploytheist that we are in between them and from which worship them,the really that they were men of wicked of adultere.
O’God ! All what you send down on behalf the sky to land in this morning and in this Day to set blessing at your friends and to set punishment at your enemies.
O! Allah !end my affairs safery and faith fully when ever the sun rises or sets.
O! Allah !forgive me and my parents and show them mercy as they fostered me since childhood ;
O! Allah !you, just know yourself,how they will be changed and their finale will be.
O! Allah !Save the muslimes Imam to protect the faith,and make him invincible,and pare for him the way of victory and triumph, and establish for him and for us such a governmentaided by you.
O! Allah ! damn that guy and the groups opponent aguinst your messenger and your affairs supervisors ofter him ,and against your Imams after wards and his shieyan, and I request you to eke out me your mercy and grant me the success of avowel to which ever belongs to you and of being passive in your obedience and of observing which ever you have ordered to hot accept any thing else rather than, and to not belittle it.
O! Allah ! guide me among whom you have guided him and let me be immune from which ever you have created, certainly ,you ensure but nobody can determine you , and every body whom you have supervised not to be abject , you are magnaimous and sublime.
O!The God of kabe ! you are holy! Accept my prayer and multiply each goodness through which I have accessed to you , and bestow the vast mercy and remuneration on us from yourself.
دعایی برای قنوت از امیر المومنین علی علیه السلام
اللهم الیک شخصت الابصار ونقلت الاقدام و رفعت الایدی و مدت الاعناق و انت
دعیت بالالسن و الیک سرهم و نجویهم فی الاعمال، ربنا افتح بیننا و بین قومنا بالحق وانت خیر الفاتحین ، اللهم انا نشکو الیک فقد نبینا و غیبه امامنا و قله عددنا و کثره اعدائنا و تظاهر الاعداء علینا و وقوع الفتن بنا ، ففرج ذلک اللهم بعدل تظهره و امام حق نعرفه اله الحق ءامین یا رب العالمین.
خدایا دیده ها به سوی تو بازمانده و گامها به جانب تو برداشته شده و دستها بلند گردیده و گردن ها کشیده شده و تو به زبانها خونده شدی و سر و پنهانی بندگان نزد تو آشکار است که چه می کنند، پروردگارا! بین ما و قوممان به حق حکم فرمای که تو بهترین حکم کنندگانی، بار خدایا! راستی که ما به تو شکایت می کنیم فقدان پیامبرمان و غایب بودن اماممان و کمی افرادمان و بسیاری
دشمنانمان و دست به هم دادنشان را علیه ما و افتادن فتنه ها در میانمان را، پس ای پروردگار! گشایش این ها را با عدالتی که آشکار سازی و امام برحقی که می شناسیم فراهم گردان،ای خدای حق! اجابت فرمای.
O Allah! All of the sights are glanced to You (in order of bless
and forgiveness) and the paces are walked to You, and the
hands are risen and the necks are extended and Your name
is uttered on the tongues and the secrets of Your worshipers
is obvious for You that what they do.
O Allah! please judge between our nation and us in justice,
for You are the bet of judges.
O Allah! We bring our complaints to You the absence the
prophets and the absence of Imams and the shortage of our
people and the great numbers of our enemies and the
union of the enemies against us and the seditions between us.
O Allah! provide us with the solution for these by the justice You show and the true Imam we know.
O the True God, Give answer to our requests.
